Mobile app and notifications
Install the dashboard on your phone and get notified about chats, even when it's closed.
Answer customers from your phone. The dashboard installs as an app on Android, iPhone, Mac and Windows, and sends notifications like Messenger — also when the app is closed.
Install the app
- Android (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet): open the dashboard and tap Install app on the card at the bottom, or Get the app in your account menu.
- iPhone and iPad: open the dashboard in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. iPhone only sends notifications to apps on the Home Screen, so do this first.
- Computer: click the install icon in Chrome's or Edge's address bar, or just use notifications in the browser tab.
The app opens straight into your dashboard. Press and hold its icon for shortcuts to the Inbox and Needs review. The number on the icon is how many chats are waiting for a person.
Turn on notifications
Go to Settings → Account → Notifications (or Notifications in your account menu) and click Turn on, then allow notifications when your phone or browser asks. Click Send a test to check. Turn them on once on each device you use.
What you're notified about
| Notification | Who gets it |
|---|---|
| A customer needs a person | The person the chat was routed to, else its department, else the whole team |
| New messages in chats with the team | The person the chat is assigned to, else the whole team |
| A chat is assigned to me | The new assignee |
| Someone mentions me | The teammate @mentioned in an internal note |
| Every new chat (off by default) | Everyone — useful for small shops, noisy on busy sites |
Messages from the same chat are grouped into one notification. Tap it to open that chat. Turn Sound and vibration off to get them silently.
Pause and devices
Use Pause notifications for 1 hour, 8 hours or a day. Your devices lists every phone and computer that gets notifications; remove any you no longer use.
Not getting notifications on Android? Check that notifications are allowed for the app or your browser in your phone's settings, and that battery saver isn't restricting it.
